Message "The ECU will only retard timing when knock is detected. If it continues, it will go into safety boost until the next key cycle."

I thought you were saying that the JWT program will not do this?? I have seen it happen through a Techtom. I have made runs with a good detonation sensor and watched the timing and then made runs with the detonation sensor disconnected and there is a difference in timing. This experiment was done using a JWT program with 555cc injectors, dual pop, and an aftermarket boost controller with the stock boost solenoids bypassed. So I have seen it with my own eyes and felt the difference in power.

"When it goes into safety boost, it is reading from the low octane maps. JWT's low octane maps are the same. If it is in safety boost, it is reading from the low octane map, which in this case it will be the same. It does not automatically drop timing just because it is in safety mode. It refers to the low octane map which is supposed to have less timing. In the STOCK ECU it does have less advanced timing in the low octane map."

OK you just said that the JWT program and the stock ECU both refer to the low octane map when in safety boost. So how is JWT's program bad or different then the stock ECU's saftey????

"But JWT's isn't a stock setup. Their low and high octane maps are identical. There are 4 fuel maps which are also identical in their program. The stock program is not this way. So yeah, the stock program does all this, but JWT's remapping defeats this setup."

You just said above that the JWT program goes to the low octane setting when in safety boost. So how does the JWT defeat the saftey boost settings that the stock ECU has???

"The ConZult is much easier to use and WAY more helpful that pulling codes or even using the Nissan Consult."

Agreed. But that has nothing to do with the safety of your program vs. JWT.

"My detonation sensor citcuit is defeated. I dont recommend this to other people, but I'm not other people. I watch my EGT's, I listen to the engine, I maintain my car and I run good fuel. The stock detonation sensing circuit sucks anyway. I've tested it by *intentionally* making my car ping (when my sensor was working before). I've yet to see my ignition timing drop when it was detonating(and the sensor was working, I was datalogging it as well as ignition timing). Fact is, the detonation sensor hardware sucks."

I agree. The stock detonation hardware does suck. Question is how will YOUR program do the safety boost any better then the JWT program or the stock program if they both refer to the low octane setting like you said above?? What makes YOUR program work better lets say with an aftermarket boost controller and the stock boost solenoids bypassed?? What does YOUR program do or sense that the stock program or JWT's program does not??? Explain please.

"No Kyle, the ECU will not retard timing beyond the map points in the low octane map just because it is reading that map. That's asanine. It reads the points in the low octane map and uses those points as long as there is no detonation within the knock zone of the map. Oh yeah, the knock zone is tiny. It is no longer listening for knock above 3600RPM BTW. I dont start making good power until 3800RPM anyway. Simple point, the knock sensor setup sucks. If there is anything goood I can say about DSM, their knock setup ROCKS. :)"

Again...what does YOUR program do differently to make the post bagging on JWT?? I have not seen anything different since your program goes through the STOCK ecu and uses the STOCK detonation sensor. YOUR program will not control an aftermarket boost controller so how will YOUR program protect the engine any better then JWT and the stock ECU which goes into the low octane map and retards the timing like you have said above??

"I'm bagging because I found this information and chose to share it with everyone. Its not arguable Kyle. I know you know Z's, but based on what you are saying here, you need to do some of your own research on the stock ECU, my programming and JWT's programming. I do have a program Kyle, and a whole lot more people are running it successfully than you would probably think."

I have told you before. Get me YOUR program and let me research it :-). If there are a lot more people running it...get them to a dyno and lets see some comparisions with the JWT, Stock, and G-force ECU's.
